TODAY IN REGGAE DANCEHALL HISTORY

1934: Lynn Tait is born in Trinidad.
1937: Chris Blackwell, producer and founder of Island Records, is born in London, England. (some say b. June 20)
1964: Millie Small accompanies Chris Blackwell to England and records Harry Edwards' "Don't You Know".
1988: Bob Marley & The Wailers' compilation album "Legend" [Island] is certified Gold and Platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).
1991: UB40 performs a huge concert in front of 30,000 fans at London's Finsbury Park.This show was filmed and released as a videogram "A Family Affair Live In Concert" on Virgin.
1994: Ace Of Base's album "The Sign" [Arista] is certified Multi (4.0) Platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).
